Subject: Acorn Winchester and dual hard drives?

Hmm, my sick-sounding Winchester got me thinking. I've got some spare
ST506 drives in storage which work. The Adaptec ACB4000 supports two
drives in theory. So...

a) Anyone know if they can be mixed capacity? I have a feeling the
equivalent Omti board forces the drives to be identical if two are used.

b) Can the Acorn ADFS hard disk code handle talking to the Winchester
board coupled to an Adaptec board with two drive (i.e. one SCSI target,
two LUNs)? Or does it assume that there's only one drive connected?

c) If a and/or b aren't possible, can ADFS / the Acorn Winchester board
cope with driving two Adaptec boards, each with a single drive attached?
I think I've got a spare ACB4000 board... (well I've certainly got one
in the ABC, I'd just rather not take it all to bits!)

Just thinking that the quickest way to do a copy from the ailing drive
might be to do a direct backup/copy from one hard drive to another
(working one) on the BBC itself. That'd buy me plenty of time to figure
out the best way of then getting all the data backed up to a PC.

cheers,

Jules
