I've never actually done this myself but I wouldn't expect any problems
with it.  The characteristic impedance of UTP is roughly the same as
Econet was designed for, and 20m isn't a long network by any means;
people used to run Econet over distances of several hundred metres back
in the day.  Even without a drain wire I expect it will be fine over
that distance.
