See if *FX6,0 does the trick.  This makes the BBC send LF CR to the
printer.  'Course, back during the Newline Sequence Wars it was de
rigueur to send only one or other character and have the printer
interpret both functions, so in a sense this is a cheat.

BTW there are a couple of modes where the computer will send duplicate
characters, to a serial printer but possibly parallel as well.  E.g.
*FX3,8 followed by VDU 1,n. Anyone know how this happens?
