Subject: Re: Revival of Commodore

Commodore has been passed around like a hot potato with various companies
promising to revive the brand along with the Amiga name also has had several
attempts at being revived. None of these ideas have come to much as no
modern computer can capture the essence of these original home / school
computers. There was a certain charm about 8 bit and some early 16 bit
micros

Many people learnt how to program Basic or had their first experiences of
fitting upgrades on these classic machines. But I think there would be
little interest in remakes of these machines from anyone other than people
who grew up with them. Getting a cheap old computer and firing it up to
remind you of the fun you had in those days is very satisfying but I doubt
people would want to start trading in their modern computers for updated
8bit or 16bit systems.
