Subject: Which format do you want BBC manuals in? RTF/HTML

Sorry if this is duplicated but I sent it yesterday and this morning and it
has not
arrived on the list yet. I am now trying to send it from a different e-mail
address.

Hello everybody who wants BBC manuals, books, documentation, etc. on line.

I am carrying out further conversion of BBC manuals and documentation.

I have had some feedback (not a lot though) on the manuals I have converted,
the majority do not appear to like the RTF format because it seems the
standard is not standard and either will not load into some packages or it
appears corrupted.

I originally converted to RTF so as to preserve as much formatting as
possible for the original, it does however take a very long time to format
it correctly, if this format is not of use to you then I am just wasting my
time.

I can create HTML versions a lot easier and with a lot less effort on
formatting, they are not laid out quite the same as the original but have
all the same content, I do format it similar with headings and different
fonts. Also images work better in the HTML versions.

The main question is do you want universal versions that will display on
everybodys system correctly (HTML) or do you want exact versions that only
work on some systems (RTF)?

As I state above the HTML versions are easier to make and if this is what
you are happy with I can save myself a lot of time and effort.

Feedback on any the manuals I have done is much appreciated, good or bad,
but make the bad comments constuctive please.

My previous efforts are on www.8bs.com

Thanks
Matt Cocker
