Subject: Re: International fonts & mode 7

I've never heard of a BBC having an alternative font built in but presumably
they would have had to make provision for this when marketing BBCs abroad.
Then again maybe it was left for overseas software writers to define their
own special letters as graphics characters or make use of the extended
character set on the Master (in modes other than mode 7, of course).

Just a small question - was a BBC ever sold, or was it ever common to create
one with the SAA5050/English font ROM replaced with any of the international
variations? My main motivation for asking is that I have implemented support
for one of the Electron Mode 7 emulators into the next release of my
emulator, and have acquired these font ROMS :

US/ASCII
Belgian
German
English
Italian
Swedish

(I know there is another about somewhere, but I don't have it)

And I'm not really sure if any, other than English, need including in the
emulator.
